Rev. John Moore, Senior Pastor

John C. Moore is the Senior Pastor. Rev. Moore retired from the Mississippi Conference of The United Methodist Church in 2015 after 44 years of active service under appointment. His appointment history began as a Youth Director in 1971 and concluded as one of the eleven cabinet members to Bishop James E. Swanson, Sr., The Episcopal Leader of the Mississippi Area of The UMC.

Bypassing all titles, he prefers being called “John Brother John.” His gifts for ministry include Preaching, Pastoral Care, Church Administration, and Teaching. He serves as an Apprentice with Spiritual Leadership, Incorporated which works with churches in the process of making Spiritual Leaders.

He names Lawn and Garden as his favorite pastime. He has a set of golf clubs. He preaches exercise to anyone who will listen which is to say he is a born again zealot for regular exercise.

He is married to Dr. Nancy Osman Moore who is a retired professor in Choral Music from Delta State University. She has previously served as the Artistic Director of the Jackson Choral Society. Presently she directs the Adult Choir at Wells UMC. The Moores have five grandchildren ranging in ages 4 to 16. They have a dog named Beau Brummell with pictures to prove it.

Rev. Sharonda Medina, Associate Pastor

Sharonda Medina serves as Associate Pastor. Rev. Medina has a BA in Communication from American University in Washington, DC, and a Masters in Ministry Leadership from Rockbridge Seminary. She is a Licensed Local Pastor in the Mississippi Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Sharonda preaches weekly in The Connection, our contemporary worship service. She has a heart for sharing God’s love with people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Sharonda delivers relatable, down-to-earth messages with a clear “call to action”. She often says that a sermon doesn’t end when she stops preaching; a sermon ends when we take the next step of applying and acting on God’s Word.

Sharonda is married to Dr. Victor Medina, an Environmental Research Engineer, and they live in Clinton with their son, Mason. The Medina family enjoys game nights, movies, and traveling together.

Rev. Charles Pope, Associate Pastor

Charles PopeCharles Pope has been a member of FUMC since 1985.  After a 40 year career in the commercial construction business as an Architectural Hardware Consultant, he felt the call to go into ministry.  He began course work and became a Certified Lay Speaker, preaching at United Methodist churches all over the West Jackson District.  He became a Licensed Local Pastor through the Mississippi Annual Conference in 2011.  He was first appointed as pastor at Hermanville UMC and subsequently at Port Gibson UMC.  Charles has a passion for spreading the love of Christ, teaching Methodist beliefs, and working with small groups.   He welcomes the opportunity to now serve as Associate Pastor at his home church.  He is married to Linda Pope, also on staff at FUMC.  They have three grown children and three grandchildren.

Rev. David Greene,  Associate Pastor of Counseling and Congregational Care

David Greene

David is a Mississippi Methodist Conference appointed Licensed Local Pastor and Mississippi licensed professional counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT). David received Masters Degrees in counseling from Florida State University and Mississippi College. He is also employed as a counselor by the Mississippi Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind. Church duties include counseling members on personal and family concerns including help with physical disability issues, marriage and family and job search counseling. As District Coordinator for United Methodist Volunteers in Mission, David works with all the Methodist congregations in the West Jackson District in development of cooperative local community and international mission efforts.

Tommy Steadman, Director of Music Ministries

Tommy Steadman, a native of Morton, MS, has a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Masters of Music degree from Mississippi College.   He loves playing tennis and basketball in his spare time.

He has served MS United Methodist churches in Forest, Brandon, McComb, Jackson, and Clinton during his career.  Tommy heads a vibrant music ministry at FUMC which includes 10 choirs and groups.  There are choirs for all ages, including singing choirs, handbell choirs, and orchestra.

Tom Edwards, Connection worship & praise team leader

Tom Edwards and his wife, Jamie, have lived in Clinton since 2003 and are raising two beautiful girls here, Abbey and Molly. Tom has served at FUMC as the Connection Worship Leader since August of 2011 and is also an itinerant worship leader for various church conferences, camps and retreats. Through working with the Connection and student worship bands, Tom hopes to provide an opportunity for musicians of any age and skill level to plug in and serve in a nurturing environment. As a worship leader, he longs to bring people to a place where their hearts and minds connect with the gospel and then join together with their brothers and sisters in Christ in celebrating our great God. Renee Neblett, Director of Family and Adult Ministries

Renee Neblett

Renee Neblett grew up in Jackson, MS. She is married to Rob Neblett and they have a daughter, Robin, and a son, Robsen.

She received a BA in Interior Design from the University of Mississippi, and then continued her education at the University of Southern Mississippi, earning an MS in Exercise Physiology. She worked as an Exercise Physiologist for 15 years at Baptist Healthplex, of which the last couple of years were exclusively with Outpatient Cardiac Rehab. She changed careers in November 2006 after becoming interested in teaching a class at FUMC, then accepted her current position.

Sarah Kate is the Director of Children’s Ministry. She is originally from Grenada, MS, and moved to Clinton to attend Mississippi College (MC).

In 2018, SK graduated with her BS in Psychology. During her years at MC, Sarah Kate plugged into our church.  Going on two mission trips to Cambodia, serving as a leader in our College & Career group, and snapping pictures of church events, Clinton First United Methodist quickly became her church home.

SK is so excited to be on staff now and is pumped to share her passion for encouraging kids to know Jesus more through developmentally appropriate ways!  She says, “Kid’s aren’t little adults, so we need to stop acting that way!  They have an incredible capacity to chat, create, and change — and I am stoked to walk alongside and see just how they do that!”

Kathy Fisher, Director of Weekday Ministries

A native of Enterprise, Mississippi, Kathy Fisher has lived in Clinton since 1983.  She is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  She married Phil Fisher in 1976 and they have two grown children, Brian (Mimmie) and Dana.  They also are grandparents to three wonderful grandchildren.  Kathy taught preschool, kindergarten and second grade for many years before joining the FUMC staff as Weekday Ministries Director in July 2008.

Vicki Rundlett, Director of Facility and Finance

Vicki RundlettVicki grew up in Wiggins, Mississippi, before relocating to Clinton for law school. Vicki is married to Kevin Rundlett and they have three awesome children – daughters, Pace and Eli, and son, Finn.

Vicki served as Student Council President at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where she graduated in 1996. She was heavily involved on campus and enjoyed her community college experience. She was honored to speak at the graduation ceremony and was inducted in the MGCCC’s Hall of Fame. Vicki completed her undergraduate education at the University of Mississippi, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1998 and thereafter attended law school at Mississippi College School of Law, where she met her future husband. She and Kevin were members of the 2001 graduating class. While in law school, Vicki served as a student senator in the Law Student Body Association where she was celebrated as Star Senator and additionally as a board member on the Moot Court Board. Vicki pursued her Master’s of Business Administration from Mississippi College while enrolled in law school and completed her MBA in 2003.

After completing a judicial clerkship at the Mississippi Court of Appeals for the Honorable Billy G. Bridges, Vicki entered into private practice doing civil defense litigation. She became a shareholder at a large defense firm in Jackson before she and Kevin practiced together for several years at Rundlett Law Firm. Vicki felt God calling her to make a career change and joined the church staff in summer, 2012.

Linda Pope, Membership Secretary & Congregational Care Visitor

Linda Pope was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi and has lived in Clinton since 1982. She and Charles Pope have been married since 1973.  Charles is the Associate Pastor at FUMC Clinton.  They have three children, Jenny (James) Wolford, Michael (Kelli) Pope, and Matthew Pope and are blessed with three grandchildren, Jaron, Lucy and James.

Linda took the position of Administrative Secretary at FUMC in January 2007 after working many years at a surgical clinic. In 2016 she became Coordinator of Congregational Care.  She loves her job visiting the homebound and hospitalized.  She cares deeply about her church family and is involved with the Prayer Shawl Ministry at FUMC.  Her hobbies include reading, cooking, sewing, and crocheting.

Dr. Brenda Wilder, Pianist

Dr. Brenda Wilder is a Music Specialist, Piano Teacher, Church Pianist at FUMC, and Adjunct Music Faculty Member at Tougaloo College. She holds degrees from Mississippi State University, MS University for Women, and the University of MS. Several of Dr. Wilder’s articles have been printed in national publications such as Pedalpoint and Church Musician Today, including an article about technology in her piano studio. She is listed in the 2000 Edition of Who’s Who of American Women and was a featured performer in Jackson, MS, for a National Steinway Tour in 2002. Dr. Wilder resides in Clinton, Mississippi, with her husband, Don. They have two children and eight wonderful grandchildren.

Dr. Wilder has served on faculty at Music Weeks in Glorieta, New Mexico, and Ridgecrest, North Carolina, for the Southern Baptist Convention and on faculty for the Mississippi Piano Camp at Hinds Community College. She has served as a National Piano Guild Adjudicator in Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Colorado, and Connecticut, as well as adjudicator for numerous piano festivals.

Ginny Miller, Organist

Ginny Miller was born in Vicksburg , MS. She has two grown daughters, Vicky Sartin, and Elizabeth Van Egmond. She has three cats and likes to crochet, read, do sudoku puzzles, sew and travel.

Ginny has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mississippi College, majoring in history, with a minor in music. She works at Foreman Perry Law firm as a paralegal. She has played the organ in many cities in Mississippi, and has been playing at FUMC since 1981.
